Day 10 – Final Reflection
Student Trip Blog
Hello family, friends, and loved ones from Trina and Esmy! Today was our first day working on our Community Action Project. We spent most of our day at the site helping build a house for a woman named Dona Nena. We built on other delegations’ work — today we focused on the roof. We split up into groups of 5 and each student was able contribute to the building process one way or another. Because we are minors and weren’t allowed to go on the roof, we spent our free time playing with the children in the neighborhood and bonding with each other.
Trina: helllooooo how’s everyone doing without their favorite children home? Today I woke up at 6:30 AM and woke up everyone else, then got ready, and then ran breakfast with the very sweet Esmy!!! We ate egg, ham, cheese, and bread. Then we got on a bus and drove for 15-20 minutes to the house we’re working on and worked in shifts with sawing wood and assisting the Build Master with whatever he needed. While I was on break, I bonding with a little boy named Ethan and he clung to me awww sau cyute! Then we headed back for lunch and ate beef, rice and beans, broccoli, and lettuce which was sooooo yums (thank you Margarita- the chef not the drink). Then we headed back to the house to work and I didn’t really have much to do so I played with Ethan and the little kids some more and played cards with my friends here. Then we came back to the Villa and I played pool and dipped my feet in the pool. Then we had dinner which was tostones and salami and then we had our nightly meeting, headed to the pool, and now we sleeping. love and miss you all!! 😀 (sissypoo if you’re reading this helloooo peopleeee! :3)
Esmy: Hey families! I also woke up early at 6:30 and woke up everyone in my villa. We seated everyone and ate some toast. Once we arrived at the CAP worksite, we had a lot of free time but I played some uno and danced with a bunch of cute kids (great dancers by the way)! Lunch was very delicious and the second time we went to the campsite today, I played with the kids some more. I played some slapjack. After the nightly meeting, we hang out in the pool!

Sounds like all of you are having a great time! Don’t worry about the free time, playing with kids is a wonderful help to every family! I’m sure I speak for every parent when I say we miss you big kids!! Shout out to Luna who I miss the most 🙂 (Don’t worry, your seedlings are doing fine, though I’m sure they’ll be happy to hear your sweet voice when you return.)
