Day 6: Fun Day & Environmental Justice

Today we started our day bright and early with a wake-up time of 7:15 am. We played a heated game of Evolution and Bullfrog, right on the dot of 9 am we left for the waterfall! It was a tiring walk but worth it for the view. Later, we were accompined by an eviromental activist where we had a intense debate about whether to install a hotel or to keep the wetlands in an imaginary court room. Finally, we spent just about 2 hours of doing karaoke! Everyone sounded great!

The waterfall hike made us feel even more connected with our group because we were playing out loud “telephone” to watch out for what rail was weak or what rock was slippery. (ask what slippery is in Spanish… that was one of our Spanish words!) Emily felt enlightened by the surounding as we got closer to the waterfall. Teagan proud of the group for using the terms “Green, Yellow, Red light”, it was very helpful to understand the groups needs while on this more difficult hike.

Today the larger group was brought together even more. Right before bedtime, every single glimpser participated in the singing of We’re All In This Together from High School Musical. This proved to us even further that we are united as we walk into Cap Day 2.

Hi mom, dad, Aiden, Finn, Rory, Grammy, Pa, Everest, and others. I’m having such a great time with all my new friends. Today, I sung Beauty and a Beat by Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj. The food here is so good and it makes me want to travel the world. I love where we are staying, my cabin can be cold at night but I persevere. The water today in the waterfall was cold, however I jumped in and it was so refreshing. Miss you all, see you soon! – Teagan

Hi mom, dad, and sister. I miss you guys a lot but I’m having a lot of fun! Everyone here is so nice and funny. Happy Birthday mom I love you guys so much! See you soon! – Emily
