Day 6 – CAP DAY 2

Hello friends and family, we hope all is well.

For starters, we continued to work on the CAP project at Nutre Hogar. While working, we learned how just like our question of the day says, each person can make a difference and how great it feels to help others. We weren’t able to start our tour of Las Tablas today as it began raining pretty hard. We were surprised to see the infested garden of ants including a live action war between a scorpion and a nest of ants (the family of ants won). We were most proud of being able to communicate and come together as a team to make big steps towards our goal.

Some of the most inspiring people that we met today were the children of Nutre Hogar. Seeing their smiles and perseverance despite all that they’ve been through inspired us to make a change. Being Líder Del Día has been a wonderful experience full of ups and downs while working together as Global Glimpsers. These were things such as rushing to finish murals on time, the garden group experiencing heavy rain resulting in a pause in their work, but this lead to progress with a new sense of direction as a team.

Today we (Kaylee, Mayer, and Annette) learned how hard it can be to lead a group of young adults, but we have made big strides to figuring it out. We also learned to use our voices to guide the group regarding our end goal.

Kaylee: Hi mom, dad, Jay, and Lulu!! I miss you all so much. My roommates are very sweet. I hope you all don’t miss me too much😪. Im doing very well and I am very happy. Mom I didn’t need the mosquito net btw🤓 . Love you all see you soon.🤩
