Day 2: Orientation Day

Today’s leaders of the day were Cielo, Madeline, and Kaleah! We started off the first CAP day very early. Everyone woke up at 4:55 a.m. and got ready to meet everyone downstairs to head on our trip towards the beach in Pedasi . People were excited to meet up with the kids to help clean up the beach.
We started off with an icebreaker learning everyones names and a game of telephone, both in spanish and english. Everyone including the kids helped with a sturdy hand to clean up the trash around whether it was a futbol or something small as a bottle cap. Interacting and collaborating with the local kids was a very heartfelt and learning experience for both of us learning how much the biodiversity brings all of us, of all ages and cultures, together.
We then started working on our collaboration project, painting rocks and a ledge. Working in the heat exhausted was a challenge for all of us that we had to push through. There were difficulties in communication that made our jobs harder which was another big challenge for us, but we managed to work through and recognized our problems to then overcome the obstacles.
Today started off with challenges, but despite it we all came together, and succeeded in the end. From the point of waking up early, to interacting with the local kids, we all arrived to the hotel (tired obv). To end our Nightly meeting, we wrapped things up with a sweet poem from our future LDDs, Emily, Shyanne, and Miranda for the next day.

I can feel the warmth from here… it was very warm in San Jose, CA today. The art work on the rocks looks amazing! Sounds like a lot of collaboration and team bonding was done today. I hope you all get plenty of rest.

Wow, it seems like today was a challenging yet rewarding day. I am proud of Kaleah, Madeline, and Cielo for being Lideres del Dia for CAP Day 1! That is always the most challenging day for glimpsers, but you set the standard and I hope you all learned a lot about your leadership abilities.
I can’t wait to read more about your progress and see more pictures!
Bubby, I miss you so much!! Diego and I go for a lot of walks to keep busy, but your presence is really missed. I hope you’re having fun, challenging yourself, and learning a lot. I love you!

Thanks for taking the time to update us even though you all must have been exhausted. Great work and so wonderful to make a connection with local children who will undoubtedly look up to you all. Love that!! The beach looked beautiful and happy to see your smiling faces.

A smattering of news from home . . . Several people are coming here to watch the Pacer’s play tonight. Big game.
Your Dad takes off tomorrow on his boat trip.
Phin cat was particularly saucy yesterday and put on a show in the back yard. He ran up a deck post, reaching the top in seconds. Then he looked down at all of us smugly. That little show off.

Oh and a lot has been happening lately. Political stuff. As for Tik tok, a few interesting topics lately have been Justin Bieber, stormi found out about her moms “king Kylie” phase, and the lakers have been sold for 10 billion to the owner of the dodgers.
