DAY 5: CAPRI DOVI FARM VISIT/VISITA A LA FINCA DE CAPRI DOVI

Leaders of the Days/Lideres del Dia: Jendel, Porter

Greetings to everyone, I am writing this on behalf on our group visit to the Capri Dovi Farm, which was approximately 30 minutes from Las Tablas. It is a family owned lactose–friendly agricultural/tourism farm featuring goats, sheep, bunnies, mini pigs, and a horse. Founded by Diomedes (AKA Pocho).

(Morning/Noon) He started off the tour of the farm by showing us around his garden, which had many unique fruits, such as coffee beans, star fruit, raspberries, etc. Many students had the opportunity to try some of these fruits. After the tour, the students had the option to pet and engage with all of the animals. Once the students had finished the tour with Diomedes. He allowed us to try some of the honey and goat cheese straight from the farm, which many students enjoyed and decided to purchase. We wrapped up the farm trip by talking in groups relating to their experience at the farm. We gave our thanks through speech and a small appreciation mug with a Global Glimpse logo, before returning to our accommodation.

(Afternoon/Evening) Once we returned from the farm, many students decided to explore and experience many parts of Las Tablas with GG Leaders. They were able to buy ice cream from one of the local shops in the center of Las Tablas, visit clothing stores, McDonald’s, a mini market, and interact with some welcoming locals.

Signing off for the day, Jendel & Porter
