Day 5: CAP Day 1

Our fifth day of the trip centered on the start of our delegation’s Community Action Project, one of Global Glimpse’s largest initiatives. Throughout the week, we will be collaborating with the Santa Cruz ASADA which brings potable water to the surrounding communities in Turrialba Canton (Neighborhood). To wake our fellow glimpsers this morning, we ding dong ditched them all to bring some humor early in the morning. Followed up by a fun game to get everyone woken up and ready for the day, which was Ships and Sailors (Pictured Below👇). We met the local foreman Esteban to help guide us throughout the project. We all helped paint water meters to help ensure identification cation in the event of an issue. At the end of the day we watched a crowd favorite movie, “Grown Ups.”

Today marked a turning point in bringing the group closer together after our dance party last night. From starting the day with ships and sailors where it was chaotic fun which required the whole group to work together. Helping paint the water meters brought the whole group closer together since we all had different tasks to make the shared vision complete. We all were scattered searching for meters to paint which open our eyes both to how to work with everyone diligently as well as connecting with the local community.
