Day 5 – CAP Day 1

Hello friends and families, 

Today in Las Tablas, we (Haylie Ng, Sofia Bueno, Jackelynn Sandoval Valencia) were the leaders of the day.

Today we started our Community Action Project (CAP) which dedicated a lot of time and effort. It consisted of some of us working on painting a mural, a few doors and some worked on planting fruits and vegetables that would benefit the children at NutreHogar. Our mural was dedicated towards young children and infants in therapy to help comfort and develop their mindsets with a splash of color. The doors were intended to brighten up the rooms and educate the children about planets, fruits and vegetables. Everyone put in their best work, and energy into today. Although there were ups and downs, we maintained a positive mindset which helped everyone push through the day.

During our free time today, we experienced heavy rain in the beginning causing a change in plans. Despite this obstacle some of us were able to explore Las Tablas, while others stayed to enjoy the pool!🤗 While in Las Tablas, many of us went to local markets to try some of the native food, and, craving a taste of home, we had to stop by McDonalds!
