DAY 5- CAP Day 1

Hello families!! Today our leaders were Elios, Suheilee, and Jimena!!!

Today we woke up bright and early at 6:15 and surprised one of our Glimpsers, Vanessa Flores, for her birthday! We all waited for her and surprised her with a cake. She was very happy and appreciative of the surprise and blew her birthday candles with a big smile on her face!

At 7:15, we then ate a delicious meal from our chef, Diego. Today we had French toast, tortas de huevo, pineapple, and papaya. After breakfast we took the bus to Escuela de Santa Rosa, and hopped off the bus ready to work at 9:00. Once we arrived, we split up into two groups, one that painted a locker room for the soccer field and one that dug up some soil to make space for cement near some exercise machines.

At 10:30, we took a quick break to munch of some pineapple and watermelon and got back to work re-energized. We ate lunch at 12:00, and had some rice and chicken with refried beans and salad and raspberry juice, and afterwards, the two groups switched activities. We continued to work hard while having fun at 3:00 and walked back to Aracari, but not before a quick stop at a corner store for some refreshments.

We then continued our walk home and were very tired, so several kids relaxed by taking a shower, playing ping pong, or hopping in the pool to cool off. At 6:00, we ate another delicious meal that was a hamburger with chips and mango juice. After, some of us went upstairs to play pool while some of us stayed behind and danced with our chef, Diego, and his wife.

Soon after, we had some downtime then we went to the nightly meeting. Following the meeting, we celebrated Vanessa’s birthday, while dancing and singing songs. After our dance party, we sang karaoke, and the vibes were up and our spirits were great. It was a very exciting and helpful day, and everyone was feeling good, whether it was from the work at school or the partying at our stay. After karaoke, we all said goodbye and headed off to bed. Goodnight, everyone!

Love you, Mom and Dad! I’ll see you guys soon, and I can’t wait to greet you guys and my bed. Sorry I can’t be there for Father’s Day, Dad, but I’ve been thinking of you and I got you some stuff. They make some good food, Mom, but it’s not as good as yours. So what’s on the menu? – Elios
