Today we got to sleep in and wake up at 7am this morning to eat fresh pancakes omelet and pineapple. Later we were able to meet Sandra at Eco Azuero where we were educated on many environmental crisis and touched with her passion to improve the biodiversity in Panama and learned how each action we take can create a difference throughout the world. In her speech we recognized we were missing materials while preparing for the hard work we’d be doing for CAP on Wednesday and walked to the multiple stores to buy them. When walking we got to see the daily lives of locals which beautiful as we noticed many similarities and differences between our own country. Later that day we got to relax in the pool, had dinner and celebrated the birthday of Eli as well as the upcoming birthday of Marco and Brianna.

Our daily quote of the day was “when the last tree is cut, the last fish is caught, the last river is polluted and when to breathe the air is sickening, you will realize, too late, that wealth is not in bank accounts and that you can’t eat money “. What we took away from this quote was that we have to take care of our planet and its not always about the money.
As leaders today we started off nervous and anxious, however with how well we’ve gotten comfortable, talkative and how close we’ve grown as a community through our shared experiences, becoming leaders was one of the easiest responsibilities. After being leaders we came to a realization that leadership is important and we developed our own style of leadership.
P.S If you did not receive or missed a phone call today, tomorrow we’ll call again.
