Day 6. Working Like a Local
Student Trip Blog
Hola! Today we spent the day with the school kids and the school community, today we spent some quality time playing with the kids and expressing ourselves with our words and actions. We had a lovely time with the kids in heat and shade as much as possible. With the great memories such as playing “futbol” and basketball various kids and Glimpsers enjoyed the experience at the school and are prepared for their CAP (Community Action Project) to help acquire the needs for this school.

After a nice lunch, we started preparing for our CAP projects. The school tasked us with creating murals to decorate their walls with beautiful and educational pictures. We split up into groups based on which mural we would be doing, and began planning our designs.
We all got to head to the store to pick out our paint colors, brushes, and other supplies!
Bonjour! my name is Jesus and i was “Lider de Dia” which is leader of the day and I included myself in various sports such as basketball and soccer. This is me and Nathan after playing “Futbol” and I had so much fun playing with them and I can’t wait to start on CAP to enlighten the school place with my teams wonderful art work!
hi! 🙂 my name is Elizabeth and I was the LDD for today. It was a really fun experience for me where I had to step out of my comfort zone and take initiative. I enjoyed meeting and playing with the children at the school and organizing the groups for our upcoming CAP project. even though my role as a leader is done, I’m excited to see what the rest of the trip has in store.

Hey Kamilah, I’m glad you and the other glimpsers made a trip to the school and will be doing a project with a for the school. It’s always important to light the way for the youth behind you. To many of our young people don’t get encouraged from their peers. So I’m glad to see that you all are filling that gap! Go KAMILAH!!!
