Hello from Aila, Krishav, and Zyanya! Today was one of the most community orientated days. We visited the local community and helped with daily chores, learned how to dance, cooked meals for lunch and just got to know the locals. Today was a big learning experience for everyone, it show’d many of us how privileged we are to have access to technology, more food options, and education. But we also realized that the US is very disconnected and not as friendly as the people we have met. They welcomed us with open arms, made us feel like family.
Zyanya: WHATS UPPPPPPPPP today, we went to go visit one of the local communities and I met this wonderful family including a mother (55) and daughter (25). I was paired up in a group with Trina, Celvin, and David. We helped the family hang their laundry on the wires, we helped broom and, mop the local community center. One struggle majority of my group faced was finding balance on the rocky terrain, as it was very easy to slip. Me and my group communicated with our family and found many similarities with both of us. We both want to travel the world, we like similar colors, and music! Later on, we went to go hang out with the local kids and took some digicam photos of the beautiful scenery. Later on in the night, we watched an immigration documentary which showed the devastating discriminative policies the DR has. One of the major things I learned today was the amount of privilege within technological and personal freedom in the U.S.

Krishav: hi my name is krishav, these past few days have been really nice. Today was fun because we went to the community and helped out, in my group we didn’t really do any chores but we went on a little hike to go check out this elders avocado tree and then this lady taught us dance. We danced till our legs hurt and then after we all went to go eat lunch and eat good food. And then after we all left to go to the supermarket and I purchased milk and coffee and another liter bottle of coke. After that we went back to the crib we had lots of free time and then I had coffee and jokes with my amigos and calls with my mom and dad. And then we watched a documentary and then had dinner which was some pretty dang good pasta. And after that we had our nightly meeting and then days over. Okay this my goodbye thank you so so much for reading and if this message gets to you I hope you have an amazing day!
