Day 10 – Final Reflection

Constance and Lisbeth here. We had a BLAST today!!! As leaders of the day we started off by waking up others at the crack of dawn. More like 7 am. After that we had an authentic Dominican breakfast, which consisted of mangu, fried eggs, fried cheese, salami, and fruit. After that we made our way to the BOHIOS. Bohios Campo Añil. The trek there was one of a kind. Every corner we turned, the vast mountains surrounded us. We went on a safari truck that blew all our faces away. It was such a beautiful view going through the mountains. Once we got there we were greeted by the coolest property owner. She told us her story and treated all of us like family. From showing us how they made hot chocolate, to coffee, some would say it was the best coffee they ever tried. The hot chocolate was also super delicious with the casabe. After that we were presented with a delicious lunch. We had pork rice, caesar salad, pasta salad, beans, meatballs, chicken, lasagna like plantains with queso, everything was just so delicious. We will forever be dreaming of this meal everyday. Then, we headed to the pool!!!! We all had such a fun time, and raced lots in the pool. On our way back we stopped by the SUPERMARKET!! We only had 20 minutes, but we all stalked up on so many snacks. Don’t worry we all got our fiber in. Fruits are always in our diets. Then we finally arrived back at the villa, where we had our dance class. We learned three types of dances: Salsa, merengue, and batchata. Finally we were off to dinner. We ate chicken tender, fries, and boiled vegetables, + fruit. Ended off the day with our nightly meeting and passed off the torch to new LDDS. Until next time!
