Hi again friends and families!
It’s your first pair of LDD’s (Líderes del Día), Julisha and Melanie here with an update on our third day. It was a bunch of fun!
We woke up at 5:30 and got ready for our delicious 6:30 breakfast made by the wonderful staff in our hotel. After breakfast, we made our way onto the bus to go to the goat farm! There, we met the owner of the farm, named Hugo. He was very kind and extremely proud of his farm. He told us than when he inherited the land, he needed to make a living off of it. He decided to begin his own goat farm. Now, after 20 years the farm produces many things such as goat milk, cheese, ice cream, yogurt and even soap. He showed us the tasks he does on the farm and even let us try them ourselves!

We were able to meet the baby goats and feed them milk out of a baby bottle. We learned the differences between adult female goats and male goats. We also got to carry the grass for the adult goats to graze on. We learned how to make fertilizer out of two year old goat manure and aquatic fern. This helps make the plants grow and gives the best nutrition for the goats.

Once we were done with the hard work, we headed back to the hotel where we ate lunch and then went out for a walk around the town. We walked down the block and went inside a super market and stacked up on some snacks. Unfortunately, shortly into our work, it began to RAIN CATS AND DOGS! We had to return to the hotel, but once the weather cleared up we went back and got ICE CREAM!!!!!!. The flavors were delicious! Around 5:00 we met in the common room for another seminar, having group discussions and learning more about each other. At 6:30 we ate dinner, which again was scrumptious. Overall, the trip has been super fun!

Thanks for reading, and keep leaving us comments! We really appreciate them!

Hi Juli! How’s Panama so far? Is it humid over there? Lots of mosquitos? What’s the culture like? I’m genuinely so curious lol. I remember going on a similar trip to yours but for the entirety of it, I was so focused on what I was missing out at home. So much so that once the trip came to an end, I began to have regrets and thoughts of what ifs. I genuinely wish you’re able to enjoy this experience to the fullest. So please please please, close your eyes and take a deep breath, hold it in—then let it go whenever you’re feeling out of place, overwhelmed, homesick, or anything for that matter! I’m very proud of you Juli. Keep going!
