Day 3 – Culture and city tour by Abbar and Abigail

  • We woke up at 7AM
  • For breakfast at 8AM today, we had eggs with a side of hams, pineapple, bananas, and cereal
  • At 9AM, we began to look into what we wanted to do for our upcoming Community Action Projects
  • At 10AM, we explored the backgrounds of the places we were going to visit later today
  • 10:30AM: We traveled to Bohio’s Camp. We learned about traditional method for preparing coffee and chocolate, and got to try some too!
  • 12PM: For lunch we were served white and yellow rice, chicken, pork, salad, and tostones. Afterwards, we went spent time at the pool where we played games together.
  • 4PM: Instructors arrived to teach us a variety of traditional dances, like meringue, bachata, and salsa
  • 5PM: We watched a documentary on the topic of Haitian immigrants in the Dominican Republic
  • 6:30PM: For dinner we had hot dogs, fries, salad, and Coca-Cola
  • 8PM: We had our nightly meeting where we passed the torch to our new leaders for tomorrow!

Abi) Hi mom, dad, and Rayden, I hope you’re all doing okay back at home. I’ve already had some memorable moments that I can’t wait to tell you all about when I come back. I love you guys!
