dAY 2. WELCOME TURRIALBA & CULTURE ORIENTATION

After a long traveling day (and night) we finally got to meet our Glimpsers. Even though the flight got delayed several hours, and arrived at 3 in the morning, the whole group had positive energy and great mood to continue with the days ahead!
We started off our day with a full breakfast at the hotel: we had gallo pinto which is a typical Costa Rican dish, fruits, cheese, sausages, eggs, we had a whole buffet.
We then started our 2 hour and a half bus trip to our base house in Santa Cruz de Turrialba, we introduced ourselves to the group and everyone got to mention a fun fact about themselves. We gave our Glimpsers directions and a preview for the next 10 days and got to our base house without much traffic! Yey!
Once we arrived we had delicious lunch (Casado) which is: white rice, beans, chicken, salad and picadillo! We immediately started with our Welcome, Culture & Orientation Seminar, did some group agreements and activities, our glimpsers had free time: some of them got in the pool, others played card games, etc.
We had a great start of our stay In Turrialba… after we had dinner we had our first official Nightly Meeting and passed the torch to our first Leaders of the Day for Day 3!

We are very excited to have started with our 11 day journey! Our Glimpsers are looking forward to lots of learning and fun for the next days 🙂
