Day 13 “CLOSING REFLECTION”

Today was our first official full day in what will be our home for the next 14 days: Aquiares, Turrialba!
Our group had great energy since the morning, and before breakfast we explored the property and got familiar with our surroundings.
We had a delicious typical TICO (Costa Rican) breakfast: gallo pinto, fried eggs, bread, and fruit!!!!! We started our day with some guidelines and rules during our Welcome, Orientation, and Culture seminars.
For lunch, we had a typical casado (rice, beans, chicken, salad, and sweet plantains) with delicious fresh fruit juice. We did our one-on-ones (or interviews) with our global glimpsers, some went in the pool and afterwards headed out to explore the local neighborhood.
We went to the local supermarket to get some snacks and enjoyed a sunny afternoon at the park playing volleyball and soccer with some local kids!
Everyone enjoyed this couple of hours. When we headed back home, some played hide and seek and after dinner, we all had our first official nightly meeting where our next LDDs (leaders of the day) presented their talents and took over the torch!
Today was a great day for our global glimpsers!

Looks like everyone is having lots of fun and already starting to get to know one another better. I’m delighted to see that there are some differences with how the leaders planned each day. Glad to know I didn’t spoil everything for Nova :). Can’t wait to see the next post from the first LDDs.
