After our first night sleeping in our base house we woke up with the sound of birds and crickets to get ready for a wonderful day in Santa Cruz, Turrialba. Such a beatiful place surrounded by landscapes of mountains, forests and farms.
We started our day eating a Costarican typical breakfast: Gallo Pinto. It had rice, beans, plantains, scrambled eggs and sour cream, as well as some tropical fruits like papaya, watermelon and pineapple. After breakfast, we played a fun game called Fast Friends which consisted on shared thoughts each other about things we like the most, dreams, expectations, among others, in order to see how our similarities and differences match.
We headed off to the Barrio Tour!!! (neighborhood tour). We started getting to know the place where we’ll do the CAP project, we learned about the people in countryside who earn their living by doing activities like farming (agriculture and raising cattle), then we visit a viewpoint from where we watched beautiful landscapes and we finished going to a local market to buy snacks and supplies!!!! (Glimpsers loved this part)

When we arrived back to base house we had some delicious lunch and everyone had free time! Most of the glimpsers enjoyed the pool, played card games, played pool, and even did some dancing!

We finished our day by having a delicious lentil and chicken soup dinner, with passion fruit juice (yummmmm). After our nightly meeting, we had some time off, and went straight to bed.
Today, was a perfect full day, we got to know our neighborhood and learned a lot about Santa Cruz de Turrialba! Our home for the next 9 days! Tomorrow the first 3 Leaders of the Day glimpsers start their roles as LDDs. We’re very excited to see their growth!!!!!!
