Today we traveled from San José to Turrialba, and along the way, we witnessed a beautiful cultural tradition — the Romería. This annual pilgrimage brings millions of Costa Ricans together as they walk in devotion to the Virgin of Los Ángeles, the National Patron. It was truly inspiring to see so many people coming together and building a strong sense of community.
Once we arrived at the lodge, we enjoyed a typical Costa Rican lunch — casado — full of delicious local flavors.
In the afternoon, we took time to reflect and write our own agreements for the trip, setting the intentions for how we want to show up for ourselves and for each other during this experience.
After dinner, we wrapped up the day with our first nightly meeting. The first Leaders of the Day were introduced and will begin their role tomorrow.
It was a day to settle in, get to know each other, and prepare for the adventure ahead.
