Day 6. Working Like a Local
Student Trip Blog
My apologies this blog was meant to be uploaded last night, however, there was poor internet connection due to severe storms in the area.
Hola! Greetings from Las Tablas, families!
We woke up at 5:30 a.m. today and started our day by devouring a delicious breakfast before leaving our hotel in Panama City. Breakfast consisted of traditional Panamanian dishes (Salchichas guisadas, churros, avena). After that, we headed over to visit the Panama Canal, where we got to see the famous passageway, and we watched an IMAX documentary about the Panama Canal.
Following that, our bus drivers, Ronald and Henry, did an amazing job getting us to Las Tablas! During the long drive, students napped, bonded, got to know one another better, and played a few games of Uno. They were excited to arrive at our hotel in Las Tablas and get situated in their rooms. They were especially thrilled to find out that we have a pool on site that they can enjoy in between activities!
After participating in some seminars and icebreaker activities to get to know each other better, students enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by our talented chefs: Tamara and her daughter Mayrodis.
Moving forward, global glimpse students will take on the role of Lider del Dia (Leader of the Day), and they will have the opportunity to write the daily blogs. Shout out to Malaki and Lucas, who are both going to be a Lider del Dia tomorrow — stay tuned to hear from them!
