DAY 2: A quick stop by the Panama Canal, and then Las Tablas!

Hello, everyone! Let’s talk a little bit about how our day was.

Today, we had to wake up really early (around 5:30 AM) to get to the Panama Canal early enough to be able to witness this engineering masterpiece. We arrived around 10 minutes before 8:00 AM, so we had to stay in line for a little bit before they opened. We got in and went directly to the area where we could see the locks. We got to see a ship pass through the Canal, waved at the workers on the ship, and then went to a small gift shop exiting the area.

After that, it was movie time! We got to get some snacks before the movies, and then we got in line for the show which started around 9:45 AM. The movie was narrated by Morgan Freeman, and it was all about the Canal’s history and impact in the world’s economy and business. Amazing production and educational value.

After that, we went on our long trip to Las Tablas, which is roughly a 4-hour trip. After a 2-hour trip, we made a quick stop at a restaurant to get our meals to go, and we kept going our way. We arrived at the Hotel Piamonte in Las Tablas, which is going to be our accommodation for the rest of the trip. The staff was very kind, they assigned the rooms to our dear Glimpsers (shout out to them for being so patient and awesome during this long day!), and we had a series of seminars to formally welcome them to Las Tablas, as well as set the expectations for the next days.
