Hi family and friends,

I hope you’re all doing well! It’s Safat and Harpreet.

We are excited to share that we have officially arrived in Chitré, where we will be spending the majority of our time in Panama. Before our five-hour bus ride, we visited the Panama Canal. The students had the incredible opportunity to see a ship pass through the canal in real-time, followed by an informative documentary about its history. Afterward, we set off for Chitré.

During the journey, the youth played a variety of games and engaged in guided conversations, discussing everything from their future goals to their favorite childhood meals. It was a fantastic way for them to start building rapport with one another. After a quick lunch break, we finally arrived in Chitré and settled into our amazing hotel.

The staff has been incredibly welcoming, and the Global Glimpse coordinators have been so helpful to both the students and us trip leaders. We enjoyed Italian dinner tonight and held our first nightly meeting, where students began the process of taking on their leadership on new responsibilities.
Our word of the day was “Compa,” which means friend.

Thank you, compas, for reading along and for allowing your amazing kiddos to experience Panama!
