DAy 10 TRavel to san jose and personal reflection

Greetings Glimpser families and friends, these are your leaders of the day : Ariyana and Amina. Today was a day filled with bittersweet reflection and lengthy travel. Instead of banging on doors, we started off the morning blasting each cabins favorite songs. Including :

  • Here Comes The Sun
  • Dreams and Nightmares
  • What Makes You Beautiful
  • Walking On Sunshine
  • What Is Love?
  • Hopelessly Devoted to You

We kicked off our final morning with a classic Desayuno of gallo pinto, fried cheese, fried eggs and garlic bread, accompanied always by fruits. We then played a game of bow (formerly known as ¨squirt¨). Then we all took our shot at identifying our fellow glimpsers voices.

Shortly following, we began our final reflection seminar by taking a trip down memory lane with our ¨Global Glimpse Journey Map¨ to acknowledge where we´ve been and have yet to go. After that, we sat in a circle using BIG LOVE as a way to show our unspoken gratitude. To finish our reflection off, we had 3 poster stations where we decided what habits we wanted to START, STOP, and CONTINUE. As if we weren´t full enough of off all the love we were recieving, it was time for lunch!

Today for our last lunch at Cabañas de Bosque, we indulged in tilapia with rice and beans , smashed platains and salad. Our beverage of choice was peach iced tea(our favorite). This hearty lunch would then power us through our long travel to Cartago, where we explored a souviner shop and continued on to our hotel in San Jose.

Once we arrived to our rooms, with anticipation it was time to get ready for our night of nights…the LAST SUPPER.

We dined at Ikua Cocina Casera where we had a choice of

  • Steak with mashed potaetos or with rice and beans
  • Grilled Chicken with mashed potatoes or with rice and beans
  • Zucchinni noodles with tomato sauce with either mashed potatoes or rice and beans

We also had a surpise dessert of a fudge brownie with delicious vanilla icecream and fudge drizzle.

To end our day, we had our last nightly meeting in the hotel lobby. Filled with tears (on our part) and feelings of accomplishment about our leadership and growth as a group!

Signing off now as we prepare for our 2:45am call time and set out for a travel to the airport to see all you wonderful people.
