Day 10: Goodbye Turrialba

Hola! Me llamo Niala and for today, July 9th I was leader of the day with Vivian! Today we spent our last couple of hours in Turriabla before traveling to San Jose. As we have for the last 10 days, we woke up together, ate breakfast, as well as had our final reflection seminar which consisted of lots of tears and lots of love shared. During the seminar we articulated our thoughts and ideas about the trip by describing 5 significant moments we experienced, people that impacted us, and the lessons we learned along the way. After closing our reflection seminar, we enjoyed our last lunch as base house which consisted of delicious chicken, rice, beans, and salad before heading out to Cartago for souvenir shopping. At one tienda we each picked out handmade gifts to share with our loved ones at home. After wrapping up our sovenir shopping we headed out to dinner in San Jose, where we shared our final dinner as a delegation, enjoying a variety of protein paired with either rice and beans or mashed potatoes. Following dinner we arrived at our hotel, checked in, and held our final nightly meeting as a T2B family! There we shared much big love, got to witness our GGL’s showcase their talents, before ending with a unity clap, screaming our delegation name into the sky. Finally our considerate and amazing leaders allowed us 40 minutes in the pool taking many photos and not sparing any splashing. Our final moments together today consisted of one last unity clap where we declared oursleves a familia. A perfect end to a perfect day!
