Day 10: Our Final Day In Costa Rica

Hello, family and friends! This is Kyle and Erin. Today was our last day in Turrialba. We woke up at 6:30 am and ate a delicious breakfast including fresh fruit (papaya and pineapple), huevo ranchero (tomato fried eggs), gallo pinto (beans and rice), and garlic bread. After breakfast, our mental warm-up was a game of “Werewolves”. At 9:15 am, we had our final reflection, sharing our personal experiences and answering four important questions to close out our Global Glimpse journey. As a group, we discussed the following four questions:

  1. Five of your most significant moments from your GG journey
  2. The greatest lesson you learned about yourself on this journey
  3. The greatest lesson you learned about leadership on this journey
  4. One person you met that inspired you the most on this journey

Our next activity was “Shoulders / Touch Someone Who”, peers will tap the shoulder of those they believe the question best resonates with. This provided an opportunity to appreciate one another.

For our last activity, was “Big Love Shout-Outs”, leaving positive messages to show our love to each other. Then, we gave a card filled of everyone’s gratitude for the hotel staff. At 1:00 pm, we departed on a 3-hour bus ride to the Marriott hotel in San Jose, stopping at a souvenir shop midway in Cartago. Once we arrived at the hotel, we dropped our suitcases and spent our last Global Glimpse dinner at Ikua Cocinä Casera. After dinner, we returned back to rest up for our early flight home.

Thank you so much everyone for keeping up with our daily activities in Costa Rica. We really appreciate all of your love and support throughout this experience! See everyone at SFO tomorrow afternoon.
