Culture Exchange & CAP Seminar 2

Hola familias, my name is Sam! I was one of today’s Leaders of the Day! I helped wake everyone up half an hour earlier today so that we could visit the local town. After a quick bus ride, our first stop was a thrift store where many found cute new tops and shorts.

After that, we visited a bustling farmers’ market full of delicious fruits and vegetables. Everyone practiced their Spanish by communicating with local vendors and bought fresh fruits to snack on back at the base house. Then, for our final stop, we visited a local bakery where everyone enjoyed some pastries together.

Bienvenidos familias, I’m Amya! I worked with Sam as a second leader of the day. We announced breakfast and today’s schedule. After the bakery, we headed back to the base house for free time. Many played card games and a round of pool. We then had a quick lunch and did our second call home, everyone talked to relatives about our experience so far. After phone calls, we joined for dinner and had our first movie night of the trip. We watched the movie “White Chicks” and had an exciting time. Finally, we headed to bed to prepare for the busy day tomorrow.
