Culture day

This warm morning started at 6:30 with: yuka sticks, tortillas, and pancakes, and was topped off with jugo de chinola. (Passionfruit juice) for breakfast!

First we traveled to La Arena for clay crafting with Lucrecio, which consisted of Glimpsers painting their very own vase.

After that, we went to the bakery, La Medalla Milagrosa where Orlando (The owner) talked about his experiences.

Some students took a splash in the pool, before heading out for ice cream in the plaza of Las Tablas. After visiting some cafes, students had a variety of ice cream flavors which included: Dulce de leche, Cafe, Strawberry Cheesecake, Tres leches, Chocolate, and more!

On our way home, the Church was letting out as the town was celebrating Santa Liberada. We greeted a few locals and watched the fireworks pop before heading to dinner.

At dinner we had yellow rice, fried chicken, salad, and mango-passionfruit juice. Soon after we had our nightly meeting and passed the torch to three new Glimpsers to be Leaders of the Day.

The unity clap for everyone was ‘Orlando’, and we really enjoyed the big loves passed around. :]

Today was a very inclusive day where everyone was interactive and engaging with one another!

Thank you so much!

We are thinking of our families and we are sending out big love!

  • Best regards, Perla Felix and Stella Dozortsev.
