Culture day 3 in panama!

Hola this is Genesis and Marelyn writing the blog tonight we were the first leaders of the day during our cultural day. Today was day 3 in Panama! We started our morning by waking everyone up at 6:15 am and had breakfast by 7:00am. We had yummy pancakes and toast cooked by our amazing chefs Tamara and Mayrodis here at the hotel. After we went on our first trip to an Artisanal shop in Chitre where the owner Lucrecio explained to us about the culture of artisanal in Panama and the history. After we got to know more about him and what he does, we got to paint our own ceramic cups where we got to be creative and draw anything with paint. Later we went to go eat lunch around 12:00 with Orlando and his family at their family based Panaderia called La Medalla Meligrosa. Orlando and his family gave us such a warm welcome and wanted us to feel at home with them, they talked about their business and gave us great advice to achieve our goals in life. One thing that Orlando mentioned was to always have perseverance. He gave us a tour and showed us how sugarcane is strained to get the juice out which can be turned into honey. After we came back to the hotel we got ready to tour a bit of the city of Las Tablas. We walked into town to get ice cream and familiarize ourselves and we got to see a parade happening. They were celebrating little kids starting school for the first time. We got to enjoy the parade and see all the culture in the center of the town and eat our ice cream. We walked backed to the hotel and ate dinner here and when we finished and we did our nightly meeting, Genesis and I hosted the nightly meeting and we passed the torch onto our new Leaders of the day for tomorrow. We’re ending the night with bonding time and writing this blog. We learned a lot about the culture in Panama and how families maintain their culture. Glimpsers and everyone got a chance to get to grow their friendships and learn more about each other.
