Today we, Andre and Jorge, were todays Leaders of the Day. Todays focus was to learn what it was like to work on a farm and get familiar with what its like for a local to work here in Las Tablas, Panama. To help our group grasp the lifestyle of a typical worker, we went to visit a goat farmer who is partnered with Global Glimpse. Owned by a very kind man named Hugo, Finca El Espinal holds the national record for most milk produced by a goat. One of the highlights of the day for everyone was being able to see feed and hold the baby goats. The goats were excited to feed from the bottles of milk, at one point Noemi helped us hold back a baby goat from feeding out of turn by trapping it between all of our legs.

Hugo also gave us an oppurtunity to help start the process of planting trees by taking fertilized soil and putting it into a black bag. Once packed, we put a seedling into it. Erin was helping us all during this process by organizing the seedlings and passing them out to whoever was in need. Grace took part in checking the bags soil density to see if they were packed well enough and then organized them onto a metal table.
Later in the day after two lengthy important seminars about safety and sustainability we were blessed by Global Glimpse with a special treat at a local dessert shop around the corner from our hotel. We were able to choose a cone or cup of any flavor of our liking. It is safe to say that everyone enjoyed it. When ordering Andre wanted a suprise flavor so he told the server, SURPRISE! in Spanish and the server laughed. Thankfully Nayeli was there for a quick save and corrected what Andre wanted to say, and he ended up with lemon pie.
We miss our familys, but we are also having a great time here all together. We are all getting along together very well, sharing laughs and creating memories. We are looking forward to the rest of our experience of Panama and what Global Glimpse has prepared for us.
