Student Trip Blog

Cultural exchange prep

Today we went into the town of Turrialba and were able to roam and fully immerse ourselves into the Costarican culture. Many groups decided to buy local snacks, fruits and were able to see the beauty of the church. Today was also our second phone call home which brought up many emotions for many of us and was an experience that we all missed.

We traveled today by public bus, which was new to a lot of the students and it allowed us to experience a part of their day to day life. The students experienced many different types of wildlife like snakes, birds, and more. Some were very interested and some were more cautious around these different animals. It is very different to what we are used to back in California, but it is very cool to see the different types of wildlife. Tonight we will end off with a movie night chosen by our leaders Chloe, Rosemery, and Izzie before our first CAP work day.

Hi. These updates are great. Thank you all.

Emme, we miss you each day but understand this is an experience of a lifetime. It will go by quickly, so enjoy every minute.

Dad knowledge drop: if the camera’s SD card is not working properly, it could be due to the humidity. Try letting it dehumidify away from the camera before transferring photos.

Love you,
Daddy

Nice pictures, hope y’all had a great movie night!

Hi Chloeeeee! I just want you to know how proud I am of you. I know you may be a little homesick but you’ve made it this far because you were meant to experience something new, to grow, to learn, and to come back home with stories that we can’t wait to hear! We love you so much and sending you hugs every single day. Pooh Pooh and Debo says hi!
Love,
Your big sis!
