Hello Families and Friends,
Today marks our last full day in Turrialba, as we’ll be spending the final night in San Jose. Following the mental warm-up, we departed from the hotel to Escuela de San Rafael (school). With the students, we led Arts & Crafts, Language Exchange activities, and Mobility exercises, such as making balloon faces, decorating hearts, Pictionary, charades, dancing to Cha-Cha Slide and Caballo Dorado, and Duck, Duck, Goose. Together, our delegation connected with the students by drawing upon shared experiences and unique differences. Our favorite part was playing games with los niños because we loved seeing their contagious smiles.

After we ate lunch, we took a bus to the Cheese Farm where we met Carla, the owner of the farm and we learned about the environment, how she takes care of her cows, the milking process and how to make Turrialba artisanal cheese. We were able to take cheese home after following the instructions of Carla and making our own cheese. We tried 3 types of cheese that Carla gave us, personally, we liked the 2 day old basil cheese compared to the other ones.

Big Love,
ALL (Alysa, Lauren, Lucia)
