Constanza- The land of many Names

“Land of strawberries, Switzerland of the Caribbean, Mother of waters, Garden of the Dominican Republic.“

Born in Los Angeles and raised in Huntsville, Alabama, I’m a unique mix of Cali cool and Southern charm. Travel, education, and cultural immersion fuel my adventures as I dive into this exciting chapter of my life.

For the past 4 years I have been leading trips as a student Tour Director in the US in such cities as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington DC, New York City, Atlanta and New Orleans just to name a few. This will be my 1st year  leading Global Glimpse trips in the Dominican Republic. Previous experience way back in the day at the age of 17 going on a service learning excursion with my high school to Nicaragua and Costa Rica!

This summer, I aim to gain more experience as a leader, traveler, and entrepreneur. And, of course, mastering the art of Spanglish is high on my list of goals!

My name is Yocabelis Peña, and I am a medical student in the Dominican Republic. From a very young age, I have felt a strong calling to serve others. I have always known that I wanted to do something meaningful something that would allow me to positively and significantly impact people’s lives.

For the past three years, I have worked with Global Glimpse, an experience that has strengthened my leadership, communication, and organizational skills. It has taught me the value of teamwork and adaptability skills I apply in every area of my life and education.

In my free time, I enjoy spending quality moments with my family and friends. Whether it’s sharing a cup of coffee or relaxing at the beach, I deeply value human connection and the warmth that comes from meaningful relationships. These moments ground me and continue to inspire my path of service and purpose.
