Community day

Today started bright and early, at 7 am. An hour later, we all gathered for breakfast and had a mental warmup. Soon after that, we traveled from La Salle to Sonido Del Yaque. Upon arrival, we toured the community and were shown what daily life looks like.We also got to do some community chores, such as raking, picking up leaves, and preparing food. Then, we had lunch at Sonido Del Yaque at 12 pm. We saw the river that the community had and bought some souvenirs from them. After that, we visited a deaf and mute school to explore the experiences of deaf and mute students. After, we headed back to La Salle and had some free time until 6pm and had a self-reflection with the other glimpsers. Then dinner came along at 6:30 pm, which was fried eggs, mashed potatoes, salad, and cheese. After dinner, we had our daily nightly meeting and announced the next leaders of the day.

Thanks for the update Wavy and Zain. What great experiences with the community and seeing what daily life looks like. Also to experience a deaf and mute school. Can’t wait to hear all about these experiences. We miss and love you, Vanessa. ❤️ Mom and Dad.
