Introduction— This expirence as a LDD was very amazing as part of communitty day.
Morning: In the morning we woke everyone up because one of us used the power of god to wake up everyone and in the morning we had oatmeal for breakfast. It was VERY good. As an oatmeal connoisseur it had great hints of cinnomin with sweert sugary tastes. My teamate thinks other wise.
Afternoon— Starting off with the main activities of the day, we went to a local village and got to meet with all of the people and do activities. These consisted of playing Dominos and cooking food because we wanted to eat with the villagers where we could get to know them and connect with their community. They were very nice and made us feel at home. We drank AMAZING coffee (best coffee of my life by the way) and all of them really liked to attack Tyson.
Evening ( Cooking/ commmunity ): We went to the community center with all the other villagers to eat food because we wanted to get closer with the villagers before we go. We ate chicken with rice, beef with rice, potato salad, and white rice.
Goodbye — This was the hardest part! Everyone was so nice (even the kids that beat Tyson) and we all connected on such a deep level. There were a lot of hugs and we could tell every kid is going to remember this day for the rest of their childhood.
Dinner: At night we ate lasangna and salad with ranch dressing and before we went to the nightly meeting we went to the store and everyone bought snacks.
Store run: So at night we went to the store and a lot of people bought a lot of stuff like a bread stick to not hit your friends with. Along with lots of candy. I bought myself a totally real rolex for only 600 Pesos.
Meeting— Last but not least we went to the village we will be doing our Community Action Project, where a local woman led us through all of the problems facing their villiage. We learned the governemnt here is not the best since she mentioned her efforts to constantly ask them for change and not recieve any change despite the promises. For that reason we are so excited to get to help out and build a houses and cement floors for those who are struggling.
Overall experience as the LDD: With given so much power I REALLY wanted to abused that power, but because of my incredible will power I stop myself from using that power because from a uncle, “great power comes with great responsibility. “
