Rise and shine at 7:20 AM! We began our day early with our health checks and beef with corn tortillas alongside some delicious lemonade. Departing at 9:00 AM to the Santa Ana school, music flowed through the bus as we took in the Panamanian humidity. After careful deliberation, groups were made to begin implementing our designs on yesterday’s base coats. Heading into our designated classrooms filled with students ecstatic to help, our designers got to work creating beautiful drawings at the students’ request.

With periodic breaks to ensure hydration and nutrition in the non-forgiving climate, we made our way to lunch consisting of pork, spaghetti, and rice with a side of lemonade served by Yanet and Ashley. By this point nearly all the sketches were complete, with our painters making there way through filling them in.

With groups working in each room, and the help of our PC’s, steady progress was made, with each stroke of our brushes being one line on the imprint being left in Santa Ana.

After a few more hours, we began to clean up and make our way to our accommodations leaving no trace. Entering the bus driven by our one and only Efrain, some of us joined kids in playing soccer while we loaded the supplies. Back at our hotel and after much needed showers, we indulged in free time heading out in groups to nearby shops including Super 99 and Mr. Tea.
After our dinner of delicious tacos prepared by Yanet and Ashley, we headed to our nightly meeting recapping our day and “Passing the Torch” to the new leaders after a dance as their talent to end off the night

Love this! So impressed by the courage it takes for students to go to a new country and contribute to a community is such a meaningful way. And I want that South America shirt!
