Cheerful cap day three 🤪

Hello everyone! Rise and shine from Layla and Ayana for CAP DAY THREE!!!! Our last CAP day, hallelujah, freedom. Similarly to the last CAP days, we woke up bright and early at 6:30am to prepare for our tiring, yet fulfilling, day. Bussin breakfast burritos with cheese, rice and beans, and eggs were prepared for us to fill our tummies before our long, thirty minute, incline walk to the worksite. Honey, this felt like the stairmaster level 8.

As the sweltering sun rays beat down upon us, we perservered, digging until we felt like we got scoliosis. During one of our many, many breaks, we got to hike down to see a beautiful viewpoint. As we peered over the vast vegetation at the numerous mountains in the distance, thinking about how majestic it’d be to zipline across it, the breeze hit us, which was much needed after we got fried in the sun. We are so proud of everybody for pushing through the CAP project and we all feel very accomplished.

However, after our hard work, concentration, and heavy effort, we finished early after locking in. During our excruciating hike back, with Memis presence missing this time around, we stopped at the pulperiiiiiiiiiiiiiiia and a local kebab store. Although there were many options for food, several glimpsers got scrumptious pork and chicken skewers. Shoutout Jeremy, the kebab guy, for following Derek, Andy, Sharron, Ronny, and Lucas on Instagram, they really needed the clout.

After our highly needed showers to get off our stench, we called our lovely families for the third and last time of this trip. Shoutout Amber, Rodrigo, and Satomi. WE LOVE YOU!!!! Many laughs were shared during this freetime. Friendships bracelets were made and games were played until we finally reached dinner at 6:00pm. Dinner was deliciously dangerous. Beef fajitas, potatoes, steamed vegetables, and leftover pizza from Fratellis with refreshing mango and mint juice.

Our daily ritual of our nightly meeting commenced at 7:00pm, where we debriefed the day and then passed the torch to Ayana (again) and Althea, who blessed us with beautiful cartwheels under the strobe lights with Midnight Sun by Zara Larson playing. Following shortly after, we had a bonfire with yummy flavored marshmallows, lots of pictures, and tears from both laughing and from catching the smoke from the fire in our eyes. Today was very tough, but we victoriously persisted and finished with a reward: the feeling of great triumph.

Big love from Ayana and Layla!
