Hello family and friends,
Today we started painting and working on the classrooms. We arrived at the school very excited and appreciative to have this great opportunity to better the school in our own creative way. While working on the different rooms we were able to improve our communication skills, teamwork skills, and time management skills. Being the Líders Del Día, we made sure everyone was able to participate on their creative walls and ensured everyone was hydrated throughout the day. We as leaders were proud of everyone contributing and getting lots of work done. It was great to see how flexible everyone was with stepping up to help their peers when help was needed in the rooms that required the most work.

After finishing our time at the school we came back to the hotel to a dance class. During the dance class Antonio showed us many different types of traditional dances for example Bachata, Congo, Zumba, and a Panamaian traditional dance. Everyone stepped out of their comfort zones and participated in the class even if they originally didn’t want to. Despite multiple people being nervous when we saw dancing on the agenda, every single person had a lot of fun. Several of us recognized this as a surprising moment we were glad we left our comfort zone. We were all proud to see that everyone contributed and had a great time during our dance class.

Here is a video from our dance class.
Overall the group was amazing, everyday we’re growing, experiencing new things, and looking at things from a new perspective. Can’t wait to show you the results!
Love from Micah, Javier, and Ryan
