Cap execution – day 3

Hi we’re Ashley and Isabella, today’s leaders of the day. Today we had our 3rd and final day of our CAP project! We planted ~600 trees today in the Azuero peninsula. We woke up at 4:45 am and had a sandwich for breakfast. We left around 5:30 to the Eco Azuero where we planted the trees. We each planted so many trees and stayed positive throughout the time we were planting trees. Although it was hard work, we had so much fun planting trees and making a big impact to change the world. Something kind that Isabella did was share her stick to collect the black bags and shared it with Marguerite. The Magnificos team prepares the land for us by creating holes in rows and leaves saplings for us to plant, but we were working more quickly and efficiently on this third day so we had more holes than saplings. The Magnificos collected saplings from nearby growth and helped us add even more trees and make a big impact at Eco Azuero.

After finishing around 9:30 and headed to Playa Venao Wao and ate at Oleajes Del Sabor. All glimpsers tried Acai bowls, smoothies, and ice cream. The menu for lunch was chicken with sauce and grilled ribs. We ate and watched the world cup game Portugal vs Uzbekistan.

We finished eating and then headed to a souvenir shop called Pedasi Folklore Store and got keychains, magnets, bracelets etc. We left again on an hour drive back to the hotel playing all sorts of games on the bus. We got to the hotel, and everyone left to get ready for a special dinner and got all fancy. We went to Punto Coffee, and everyone got their meals and enjoyed themselves and many photos were taken. We saw that many people shared their food so that others had a taste of a dish they didn’t get especially with the deserts, we all had such an amazing time and will definitely miss this so much.

We passed the torch at our nightly meeting to the final Glimpsers who will be leading tomorrow and writing the blog. To enter their positions, Nayeli taught us a little bit of Italian and Wyatt gave an epic performance of facial expressions. It was hilarious!
