Hola! It’s your leaders of the day Samarah, Kelly, and Melaine. This morning we woke everyone up at 6:30am sharp and headed down for breakfast. Breakfast was delicious as usual. We had scramled eggs with toasted bread, fresh fruit and passion fruit juice. Then we headed to Borrola to work on the Community Action Project (CAP) for the last time!!! Everyone was working tirelssly within the 2.5 hours that we had left. Unexpectedly we need more time than planned and it finishing the project became an all hands on deck situation. Everyone was so involved and focused to add the finishing touches to the paintings. In the end our hard work and determination paid off and we were able to finish just over 2.5 hours. In the end it was beautiful and the community of Borrola was very happy to see the final product. We are all so proud of what were able to come together and create. Then, we hopped on the bus and slept peacefully knowing that we’ve left a little part of ourselves and New York in Borrola. When we got back to the hotel it was lunch time. For lunch we had Panamanian style lo mein with yellow rice, fried chicken, sweet plantain and passion fruit juice. After stuffing our faces it was free time. We all went out and did our own things within the groups. Next, from 4:00-6:00 it was time to write our Apperciation letters for our Global Glimpse suppoters and the CAP reflection. Within the 2 hours we were able to debrief the last 3 days of CAP and disscused our strengths and when we could’ve improved on. We also discussed how we can take this experince and use it for the future. After that it was time for dinner. Dinner included meathballs, rice with vegetables, sweet plantain, mashed potatoes and to drink we had… you guessed in passion fruit lemonade. And then to work off all the food we just ate, everyone joined in on the sponataneous dance party. We were all sharing music from our cultures. From bachata, to kompa and even the cupid shuffle everyone was up and dancing. Lastly, we had our brief nightly meeting where we initiated our new leaders of the day for tomorrow.

I’m so glad you’re having so much fun, Jhosy. Thank you, leaders, for all the pictures! I’m looking forward to hearing all about it when she returns. Honestly, I’m happy you’re all enjoying this trip; I’ve been checking in whenever I can. Also don’t forget to bring me a bracelet from there. Take care of yourself.
