CAP Delivery Day #2

What’s Good Everybody? It’s your LDD’s of the day, Isabella, Pheona and Serenaty!

Today we woke up at 6:30 am and the weather was warm with a light breeze. For breakfast we had burritos with cheese, pinto, and eggs with a drink of our choice. At 9:00 am, we hiked up the hill again to continue our CAP. Fortunately, ASADA came in clutch with the tractor and helped us dig in just a few minutes what would have taken us the whole day to complete. After they finished, we were able to put the new pipe into the trench we had dug yesterday and started to cover the pipe with dirt.

Then, after 4 hours of constantly working, we headed back to home base for lunch. We had a beef potato casarole, sweet plantains, cold slaw and watermelon mint juice. During our lunch time we also had the idea of curating a playlist to listen to while working. We passed around Cami’s phone so our peers could also add music. The majority of the playlist contained music from the early 2000s and musicals such as Hamilton. Shortly after we finished eating, we started to head up the hill to get back to work again!

We finished covering the pipe on the right side of the road and we continued to dig on the left. 2 hours in, it began to lightly drizzle and towards the end it started to rain heavier. We made a lot of progress and, with the music, we noticed that everyone sang along.

Around 4 pm we headed back to the home base again to wash off everything. Then we began our appreciation letters for our supporters. Afterwards, we had burgers and cantalope juice for dinner–a very delicious meal after a long day of work!

Today’s Leaders Signing out,

Isabella, Pheona, and Serenaty!
