CAP DAY ONE!!!

HI GUYS ITS OLIVIA AND SOPHIA, so today we woke up the group at around 7 am. We started off this day with breakfast to fuel our later work. CAP is a community based project that providing service to communities who need it. For our CAP project, WE ARE BUILIDNG A HOME!!! Doña Maria is an elderly woman who resides in los Embazadores, a community within Constanza. Her home, along with 6 others, burned down in a tragic fire. Maria lives with her children and after the fire they were left in an unlivable situation. After speaking with Bernardo on day 3 we were very excited to start this project.

We arrived to our CAP community at around 9:30 in the morning, we started to lay the wooden foundation of the house. We sawed wood and used hammers to secure the foundation. After the foundation was laid, we went back to our villa for a lunch break. At around 1pm we arrived again to start working. We started to hammer in the wooden walls of the house and started the paneling on the side. Glimpses broke out into groups to ensure that everyone participated and was put to work.

We ended our CAP day one at 4 pm , we left very happy with our progress but knew that there was more to be done. We are so excited to be working on this for another 2 days and will push through whatever challenges may come our way.

We had a great time being LDD’s , especially after showcasing our talent last night at our nightly meeting where we wrote a “Global Glimpse Rap” featuring the entire group, even our PC’s and GGLs. We are excited to see what tomorrow brings!
