Hey friends and family, we are Cassandra, Amirat, and Lupe! Today was our last day working on our CAP project. We planted 17 trees near the entrance of Santa Maria and one special symbolic tree in front of the Santa Maria welcome sign. Today, we met the mayor of the Santa Maria district along with other members of the district who helped us with the planting process.
During free time, we explored the city of Chitre, went to Panamanian Walmart, shopped at local boutiques, tried pastries from coffee shops, some went to church, and bought souvenirs for our loved ones. Coming back to the hotel, we had a CAP debrief and seminar to prepare us for appreciations towards our Global Glimpse Supporters. Our dinner was very delicious, especially for Lupe since it was something she really missed from home. Hamburgers and fries with soda on the side was one of the highlights of the trip.
We learned it´s hard planting trees under the hot sun but we were determined to get it done for the Eco Club. Something that really touched our hearts was giving keychains to a few students from the Eco Club who were very involved in the CAP project. It surprised us how many trees we planted in an hour (17) and how many large rocks were in the soil. We were proud of how fast and efficient we were able to work together today under the sun. It was difficult to self-manage ourselves along with others, but we were able to manage sufficiently with our group. We learned it was difficult to gather the attention of everyone and having to raise our voices, but when you want something done badly enough, you´ll get it done with passion. We are looking forward to our last day in Chitre tomorrow where we will be enjoying our fun day.
With Love, Cassandra, Amirat, and Lupe

Hello Everyone
I missed the CAP day 2 comment session last night but read about the party favor wake up call , yikes. I, too have to get up early today for a 6 am meeting. LOVE the mural and the color combo on the tree!
CAP day 3: what a great accomplishment- 17 planted trees ! Hope everyone had a fun time exploring the town and shopping!
We had a nice dinner at Sewa Naplaese and Indian cuisine. The lamb both kabob was yum! But the Momos was better with chicken stuffing the last time we (with clover) were there.
Checking in with Mister president, he had his daily pool time this morning, then up to the snooze corner as usual. Unfortunately, tonight we found some unwanted tank mates – a few ants started to chomp on a dead cricket. Emere: Clover is my dedicated spider relocater at home, & crickets & giant moths. Looking forward to seeing everyone back in the Bay Area soon. You’re at the home stretch! Love U Clover ☘️ D,K & M

What an amazing leadership lesson you all have learned – it really can be hard to try to manage others while doing the work yourself. I’m glad you were able to harness your passion and commitment to help the group get the job done. 17 trees in one hour is very impressive IMHO!
