CAP Day 3

Hey guys, it is Dev again. I am back for another term as leader. It is kind of like Grover Cleveland. This time I was joined by Levi for his first official term as co leader. I was excited to finally have someone to share the job with, even if he spent most of the day reminding everyone how great he is.

Today was our final day of the Community Action Project, and I think it finally caught up to all of us. Everyone was exhausted. The second we got back to the villa, people started falling asleep wherever they could. At one point an unknown chud was passed out in the dining hall. Levi and I somehow overslept multiple times. As Leaders of the Day, this does not exactly support our claims of greatness, but we simply had our loyal Glimpsers wake us up and remind us that lunch existed. Thankfully we were able to have the energy to celebrate our cook’s Ursula’s Birthday before having dinner.

Alright, this is Levi. Finally, I get the keyboard. I would like to thank everyone. The work itself was no joke. I ended up throwing up from pushing myself too hard. Thankfully everyone ended up being alright.

Today was exhausting. Dev and I were definitely not the most active Leaders of the Day. Between the naps, the exhaustion, and our bodies basically giving up on us, we were probably more like Leaders of the Occasional Check In. Somehow, everyone else still managed to keep things moving, which says a lot about how strong this group is. Between the two of us and our combined back pain, we probably make one functioning person. Barely.

Looking back at the last three days, I am really proud of what this group accomplished. Everyone worked hard, supported each other, and never stopped finding reasons to laugh, even when we were running on empty. Finishing the trail together made all of the sore muscles worth it.

Thanks for following along with our blogs. We are all going to sleep for the next week.

Dev and Levi.

Levi and Dev! I’m so proud of you both and the full group – the trail looks absolutely incredible and I can’t wait to hike it next time I am in Jarabacoa.

It was a true privilege to get to spend time with your delegation and most importantly to see the growth in each of you. Growth is never easy and I respect how each of you showed up, worked through the challenges, both physical and mental, humbled yourselves, and kept your eyes on the prize. I hope to see many of you at future Global Glimpse events, wishing you a wonderful end to your trip!
