What’s up guys! It’s Eduardo and Kelly aka the best leaders! We started our day bright and early again at 6:00 and had breakfast at 6:30. We got ready to leave and were on our way to Playa Venao at 7:30. On the bus, we were jamming to some fire music provided by the Glimpsers and our very tough playlist. At first we met the founder of Save the Turtles, Scott, who showed us Arnis, or Filipino stick fighting. He told us that he was first interested in learning Jiu-Jitsu, but there were no teachers here in Panama so he learned Arnis instead. He also gave us some lychees, which were delicious. After learning about Scott, we immediately got to work on the nursery.
We finished filling in the holes we dug yesterday and started digging out the last few blocks that needed to be cleared out. During our break, Scott brought us a huge bowl of bananas, papaya, watermelon, and pineapple. It wasn’t as hot as yesterday – but no doubt everyone was just as sandy. And by the end, Porter and Owen were rubbing sand on each other. We worked hard for 3 hours and then some people went into the water. We went to the same place for lunch as yesterday, Oleajes del Sabor, and saw a watch party for the world cup finals. On the way home, we had another acapella session because we had some technical difficulties with the music.
When we got back we had a few minutes to get ready to go to the festival, and then the lady at the front desk let us watch the World Cup game on the computer. As soon as we walked out into the town, we heard all the locals yelling because Spain scored. We walked around the town for about an hour and a half, and we got to see the start of all the festivities. Then we got back and flicked up (took pictures) a little because we all got dressed up. We had fried chicken, rice, beans, and plantains for dinner. After dinner we had our nightly meeting which was full with a lot of big love. To end our night, we hung out on the balcony and played card games while longing to go to the parade in the city 🙁 🙁 🙁
Yo yo yo its your boy Eduardo. This is a message for my little sister Penelope, I wanna wish you a happy birthday turning the big 12 years old I love you have fun.

Love these updates! So proud of the hard work. I’m sure those early wake up times are tough but you’re doing it for a great cause. I’m actually jealous. Hope you’re seeing a ton of cool things and trying new foods. Soak it all up. Enjoy every minute. xoxo

Eduardo, it’s your mom over here. You know Penelope and her words of affection 🤦♀️🤣 siblings love😁. Well, I want to say I am so proud of you my love. Keep up the good work, 🫵you better be trying the good food and fruit, I know you🙄, I dont want to hear you survived on mac and cheese and Ramen noodles 🍜, like when you went camping🤣. I’m counting the days until you are here with us. Looking forward for tomorrow 😀

Another amazing day! Can’t wait to learn more about Arnis. You all are working HARD out there in the sun and the sand–we are sure the future turtles say thank you. 🐢🙏 It sounds like you’re eating yummy things–lychees are so good–and it’s great that you got to watch the World Cup and to walk around town. Can you share any pictures of everyone all dressed up? We’d love to see those! All the pictures are fantastic to see.

Sounds like your a capella careers are beginning… I hope you all form an a capella supergroup and tour the world, but perform *only* for turtles. Tortugacapella! (Which is also pretty good in English: Turtlechurch.)
Yoshi, did you know that Brooke has Arnis sticks and also studied jiu-jitsu?! Now you two can play with sticks together! Miss and love you so much.

Good morning glimpsers!!!!!! You all look like you are having so much fun in the photos while preparing the nursery!!!!! It’s great to see so many smiling faces!!! Looking forward to seeing photos of the finished product (if done within the 3 days of course!) I am so happy that you all are becoming so close! Like I said earlier – these are the memories and friends that last a lifetime! I am glad you got to watch some of the World Cup final AND got to go into town for the festival. I am sure I speak for all the families when I say that we miss you, but are so excited for you to have this once-in-a-lifetime experience! Keep saying yes to every opportunity! (and keep eating the chicken…has there been anything else on the menu?? LOL)
