Hi guys! Today was our last day of CAP, but before we get into that it was one of our fellow glimpsers birthday today (shoutout Mahalet!). We woke up at 5am to surprise her with a signed poster, and also decorated using pom-poms that we were taught to make at last nights nightly meeting. She loved the surprise!
After our celebration we had breakfast at 7:00am which was french toast, eggs, and sausage with an assortment of fruit that fueled us for our final CAP day! At 7:50 we had our morning meeting where we shared our daily quote and question of the day. At around 8:00am we departed by foot to the asada to begin painting the fences. Before we arrived we stopped in downtown Santa Rosa to pick up some fresh fruit and snacks. When we arrived, we got to work!

We spent the day painting where we were able to use our newly learned spanish phrases such as “me pasas la brocha/pintura” which translates to “can you pass me the brush/paint”. Halfway through the day we went to lunch at the local park, where we were greeted with our lunch of rice, meat, beans, and salad by Diego, Marianela, and their youngest son David! We finished our painting with just enough time to dry before the rain rolled in. Carolina, the head of the asada, came to thank us for our hard work with a paper slip of water conservation tips and Costa Rican candies!

For dinner, we had nachos. And as a final birthday celebration, we surprised Mahalet with a cake and singing! We ended our night off with our regularly scheduled nightly meeting, and passed the torch on to the leaders of tomorrow. – Claire, Loa, and Aislin.
