¡Hola! My name is Ricky, and I’m incredibly excited to be part of this upcoming Global Glimpse journey to Constanza, Dominican Republic.
I was born in Mexico and raised between California and Mexico, two vibrant places that shaped my identity and passion for language, culture, and travel. For the past eight years, I’ve had the joy of working as a Spanish teacher. Currently I work at Gateway High School in San Francisco, where I get to share my love for language, culture, and learning with young minds every day.
Beyond the classroom, I’m someone who loves to travel, exploring different cultures, tasting new foods, and getting lost in the beauty of nature. I genuinely believe that these experiences don’t just entertain us—they enrich the spirit and broaden our perspectives.
So when I first learned about Global Glimpse, my immediate reaction was, “What a great program!” It truly aligns with my belief that traveling when you’re young is transformative. It teaches you about the world, but even more, it teaches you about yourself.
As we prepare to head to Constanza, I can’t wait to see the ways this journey will impact our Glimpsers—many of whom may be traveling outside the U.S. for the first time. I know this experience will challenge, inspire, and change us. And while I look forward to the food, culture, and natural beauty of the Dominican Republic, I’m most excited to witness the growth in each student as they learn, connect, and expand their horizons.
I can’t wait for this trip full of discovery, reflection, and unforgettable memories!
Con cariño,
Ricky
