Hello glimpsers and everyone else,

My name is Maria Isabel Avelar but I go by Isa. I’m incredibly excited to travel to Constanza, Dominican Republic for the first time. Although this is my first time as a traveling GGL, I had the amazing opportunity to experience global glimpse as a student about 10 years ago! Hands down, it was one of my favorite and most memorable experiences in high school. I am ecstatic to get to know everyone and most importantly to witness the growth that everyone embarking on this 11-day journey is about to experience.

I’ve been a teacher at Lodestar High School for almost 5 years. I teach Biology, Honors Anatomy & Physiology, and Intro to Health Science. Science is my jam! Outside of school grounds, I love to read, explore the outdoors (hiking), visit museums, try new food spots, and I absolutely love to sew and up-cycle clothes. I have 3 cats and 1 pug that I love dearly.

I can’t wait to meet the glimpsers joining me on this trip! 🙂
