Student Trip Blog

Buenas Families and Readers,

Today we woke up bright and early for breakfast, where we had saugage with onions, toast, and corn tortillas. After breakfast we made our way to the CAP Site and got straight to work. We all worked towards cleaning and organizing barrels, painting the new structures, and re-organizing the barrel recycling system. With reminders to keep drinking water and having many snacks, the engery and vibes for the last CAP day stayed high. Our time today was short but efficient, and everyone worked hard together as a unit. As leaders of the day we did our best to keep spirits high with some silliness and joy; the most important thing that we learned today was that it’s not how you begin, but instead, how you finish.

Lisenia and I gave our words of appreciation to the principal of the Santa Ana school, Thersa, the bilingual teacher, and Carlos, the head contractor. They all shared their collective love and thankfulness for the Global Glimpse community and we shared lots of hugs. Here are some pictures from the site:

On the bus ride back we blasted Super Shy by New Jeans in honor of Lisenia’s silly request and were surprised by seeing our king Mateo; still feeling a bit uneasy but happy to see us again (We all missed him a lot). After a hard day’s work, we ate steak and rice with pina rice juice and wrote thoughtful letter of appreciation to our Global Glimpse supporters. During our freetime, we took a group trip to the plaza where some people were able to get some nice stuff.

Today was very eventful and fun, we’rre looking forward to our beach day tomorrow and to support the next leaders of the day: Janai and Bri.

P.S. Ma I miss you lots and I can’t wait to see you Lori, Dad, and Gram. Love you guys — Menorah

Linettie I miss you chunky monky 😛 — Chena
