Hey guys, It’s Keily and Dayanna! We are today’s Lideres del Dia.
We started the day by waking all the glimpers at 6:30am, and then we ate breakfast at 7. After breakfast, we went on a 1 and half hour drive to “Playa Venao” in the Azuero PenĂnsula, where we learned about an organization called “Save the Turtle.” Their main focus is to save baby sea turtles/eggs from danger, both from natural and cultural causes. In this organization, we were introduced to Alexandra and Amy, representatives of “Save the Turtle.” Overall, it was a great experience to be at the beach and learn about the process of saving these beautiful animals.

After lunch, we decided to have some fun by going to the city square and playing volleyball. Some continued to play a sport, while other decided to go shopping. Glimpsers were able to interact with locals by either playing sports or learning more about traditional panamanian culture. Going through these expierences was not only fun, but educational; as we explored different shops and stepped out of our comfort zone to talk to locals.

Later in the day, kids were able to go in groups to explain their own thoughts about what bioculture diversity means and its impacts. To end the night, Dayanna had the amazing idea to do nightly face masks with the group 🙂
