Beginnings! Day 2

Hello everyone, here are your GGLs Rose and Alex writing from Las Tablas.

Today we awoke in the capital, Panama City!

After a short drive through the heart of the city, we arrived at one of the modern world’s great wonders, the Panama Canal. We were lucky enough to see two ships go through the locks. This showed us the amazing technology of the canal itself, and the hard work the Panimanian people do to keep it in operation. We then saw an IMAX 3D documentary explaining the history of the canal and how important it remains to us today.

We spent our afternoon driving through the countryside, and the mountain views were spectacular. Then we arrived in our host city, Las Tablas. Almost every building is decorated for a festival being held soon to honor the local saint, Santa Librada.

After settling in, our Glimpsers chose their Leaders of the Day (LDDs) for tomorrow: Yaslin, Brandon, and Mikaela. They introduced themselves and shared the schedule for tomorrow with their peers. For their word of the day, they chose “Beginnings.”

Our LDDs are taking over the blog tomorrow to give you their unique take on the day, highlight memorable moments, and share thoughtful reflections. Stay tuned for an inside look!
