Arrived Las Tablas

Greetings Friends and Family!

The Glimpsers began their day with a wake up call at 5:30 am. Everyone enjoyed a nice breakfast buffet consisting of eggs, fruit, churros, croissants, chorizo, tortilla Española, coffee, tea, and chocolate milk. We then headed to one of the great architectural wonders of the world, the Panama Canal. The students appreciated sitting in the air conditioned IMax theater to learn the history of the canal. After the canal, the Glimpsers took a bus to Las Tablas and absorbed the lush green scenery as we drove 4 hours to Las Tablas.

We settled into our hotel, and everyone participated in the Welcome and Orientation seminar We played some energizing games to build community, and then returned for the Leadership seminar. Finally, time for dinner! The students had a choice of chicken and french fries or rice and lentils with delicious Tamarindo juice.

After dinner, we held our nightly meeting where our in- country program coordinators passed the leadership torch to Perla Felix and Stephanie Dozortsev (Stella) who will step into the roles of Leaders of the Day for tomorrow.

And to end the night, some of the Glimpsers enjoyed an after dinner swim before going to bed.

All in all, the Glimpsers seized the day; making new friends and expanding their horizons with new experiences.
